The central theme and objective of the conference follows it’s title From Science to Business. As scientists with an interest in business, we hope to one day realize opportunities in researched ideas into successful ventures. "The Driving Force: From Science to business" will focus primarily on what drives the commercialization of scientific innovations, not only in terms of dollars and cents but while also considering the passion behind making research come to life to improve the prosperity of science and technology. Too often science is thought of as simply the pursuit of knowledge through the observation of the world around us. “The Driving Force: From Science to Business” strives to promote the link between scientific studies and research and their practical application in society , identifying opportunities for continued innovation and commercialization, while also learning to overcome the challenges of this process.
The day will evolve in the Davis Centre and will aim to attract some 350 students to network, gain insight and valuable information about the direction of Science and how it drives business today.
